SERHA Saddened by Death of Charmaine Vassell-Shettlewood, Senior Public Health Nurse, KSAHD

KINGSTON, Jamaica. Wednesday, September 28, 2022. The Management and staff of the South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA), are deeply saddened by the death of Mrs. Charmaine Vassell-Shettlewood, Senior Public Health Nurse and In- service Coordinator at the Kingston and St. Andrew Health Department, where she has worked for the past 20 years, with oversight for eight health facilities – Edna Manley, Stony Hill, Golden Spring, Parks Road, Essex Hall, King Weston, Mount Charles and Lawrence Tavern. She died on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

For over 30 years, nurse Shettlewood has dedicated her life in service to her country. She was also a critical front-line worker in the country's COVID-19 response. Her duties entailed training community health aides, public-health nurses and other staff who worked in the fields.


She will be remembered for her compassionate spirit and invaluable service in public health. The Board and Management of SERHA extend sincerest condolences to the family. friends, and colleagues of Nurse Shettlewood. May Almighty God give rest and peace to the departed soul.
