Ambulances
The South East Regional Health Authority’s ambulance services provide urgent pre-hospital treatment and stabilization for serious illness and injuries and transport to definitive care.

The current fleet complement is seventy-two (72) vehicles; of the units 58 comprises of buses, pickups, motorbikes, SUV and truck and also 14 ambulances.

Mental Health Buses
Mental Health Services within the Region have been boosted with the addition of new buses that were handed over by the Ministry of Health & Wellness at the launch of the Mental Health Campaign which took place on October 10, 2019 at Bellevue Hospital in Kingston.

Vector Control Vehicles
The Vector Control Programme within the Region received a major boost with the addition of 13 new vehicles received from the Ministry of Health & Wellness at the official handover ceremony on January 27, 2020 at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in Kingston. Dr. the Hon. Christopher Tufton, Minister of Health and Wellness, announced that a total, 60 new vehicles, valued at over $400M were acquired for the regional health authorities. These new vehicles are equipped with mounted foggers that will strengthen the dengue control programme as well as rodent vector control activities across the region.

The Region has a total of fourteen buses that are being used to transport staff and to perform other duties assigned by the Transport Department led by the Operations and Maintenance Department. The breakdown are as follows:

Nurses' Buses
Nurses received seven buses from the Ministry of Health & Wellness to transport them to and from their homes during the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19 at a cost of more than $57 million to transport them to and from work.
The vehicles, along with two others that are on loan from Toyota Jamaica, are to be utilised to transport nurses in St. Catherine, Kingston and St. Andrew, and St. Thomas on a scheduled basis. Included are four 28-seaters, one 12-seater, and two 16-seaters.
