Project Scope of Works: Internal renovation, including retiling, repainting, replacement of fixtures and fittings, and ceiling repair.

Exterior renovation: repainting, roof repair, and repainting.

Building Extension: construction of patient waiting area.

External Works: Landscaping; paving.

Current Project Status: 92% Complete. 

Major items of work on the main building and the extension

Paving and fencing completed; internal reconfiguration and repair/refurbishment work undertaken; roof repairs required prior to completion of internal works.

Site clearance; site preparation; erection of chain-link fence; making good works disturbed; landscaping.

Project Location: Morant Bay, St Thomas

Project Description: Waterproofing of the existing concrete roof of the Morant Bay Health Centre.

​

Project Scope of Works:

• Removal of existing waterproofing;

• Effecting repair/corrective work as necessary

• Installation of new waterproofing;

• Making good works disturbed;

• Site cleanup

Project Budget: $4,128,450.00

Supply and Installation of Six (6) Digital X-Ray Machines:

•             3 at Kingston Public Hospital 

•             1 at Spanish Town Hospital 

•             1 at Bustamante Hospital for Children 

•             1 at National Chest Hospital

• Decommissioning and removal of previous X-ray machines

• Preparatory civil works

• Preparatory mechanical installation

• Two machines have been installed at KPH; UPS installation is imminent; commissioning to follow (by the second week of April); Machine installation is underway at KPH and STH;

• Installation of machines at BHC and NCH is to be completed in April and May 2024, respectively.

Projected Outcome/s: 

Equipping of four (4) hospitals with modern digital X-ray machines with a view to improving the efficiency, speed of operation and quality of output in the process of undertaking X-rays and generating and analysing resultant imagery.

Project Description:

Replacement of timber and metal roof of the hospital's Accident and Emergency Unit.

Project Scope of Works:

• Removal of existing roof covering;

• Replacement of structural members as required

• Installation of new roof covering;

• Installation of guttering and downpipes;

• Making good works disturbed;

• Site cleanup

Projected Outcome/s: Effecting of urgent roof repairs to eliminate leaks that preclude the conduct of safe and complete operations at the hospital’s Acident & Emergency Ward during and immediately after periods of rainfall.

Project Location: National Chest Hospital, St Andrew

Project Description:

Undertaking paving works on ground impacted by subsidence in order to provide a stable platform for the movement of heavy vehicles, particularly for the delivery of medical oxygen.

Project Scope of Works:

Site preparation; excavation and earthworks; application of asphaltic concrete pavement; making good works disturbed; clean up and site restoration

​

Project Budget: $4,678,220.00

Projected Outcome/s: Ensuring stable ground to support heavy vehicles to ensure the safe transit and operation of medical oxygen and any other necessary services.

Project Location: National Chest Hospital, St Andrew

Project Description:

Construction of a concrete building to accommodate a new air compression and vacuum system that is to serve the hospital.

​

Project Scope of Works:

Site preparation, excavation and earthworks, substructure and superstructure construction, installation of fixtures and fittings, installation of services, finishes, site cleanup, and making good all disturbed works.

​

Project Budget: $5,428,616.00

• 32.5% Complete

Projected Outcome/s: Apt and adequate accommodation of a newly installed air compression and vacuum system, thereby facilitating and Ensuring stable ground to support heavy vehicles in order to ensure the safe transit and operation in the delivery of medical oxygen as well as for any other necessary services.
