Health Department
The St. Catherine Health Health Services is responsible for the operation of 27 health centres and two hospitals, the Spanish Town Hospital and the Linstead Hospital.Geographically the largest parish within the South East Regional Health Authority, St. Catherine presents both unique challenges and opportunities to the public health services. It is the fastest growing parish with a population of 486,819 (STATIN 2004), estimated to be over 600,000 in 2006. St. Catherine Health Services has a network of twenty six (26) Health Centres and eight (8) satellite clinics spread across four (4) health zones. The parish is served by two (2) hospitals, Spanish Town a Type B Hospital and Linstead a Type C Hospital. It has the distinction of having the five (5) top urban areas of population growth – Portmore, Old Harbour, Linstead, Ewarton and Spanish Town (Census 2001) and Portmore being the largest dormitory community in the English speaking Caribbean.

The Kingston and St. Andrew Health Services (KSAHS) offers public health regulatory, primary and secondary health care services to the population of Kingston and St. Andrew as well as those of the Kingston Metropolitan area and the western areas of St. Thomas. It comprises a network of forty-eight 48 Health centres which includes three Comprehensive Type V strategically located throughout the two (2) Parishes and five (5) Specialist Hospitals namely Bustamante Hospital for Children, Sir John Golding Rehabiliation Centre, Hope Institute, National Chest and Victoria Jubilee Hospitals.

The St. Thomas Health Services (STHS) serves a population of approximately one hundred thousand (100,000) people from the parish and adjoin parish and comprises of the Princess Margaret Hospital, a Type B facility, and 17 Health Centres, including the Isaac Barrant Centre of Excellence.
