Clinical Services Continue at KPH&VJH As Authorities Address Sewage Overflow

KINGSTON, Jamaica. Tuesday, April 2, 2024:The South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) is advising that clinical services at Kingston Public and Victoria Jubilee Hospitals (KPH & VJH) have not been adversely impacted, even as staff and patients have been inconvenienced by this the on-going overflow of sewage on the hospital compound. This matter is currently being addressed and there are on-going discussions with the National Water Commission (NWC) for an urgent resolution.


Dr. Natalie Whylie, JP, Acting Chief Executive Officer, KPH & VJH, noted that “Our

operations team at KPH & VJH continues to work with NWC, who has assured the team

that the matter will be resolved with urgency.”


The Hospital CEO further explained that the sewage issue extends beyond the hospital

compound and includes communities in downtown Kingston.
