Kingston, Jamaica Thursday, November 7, 2024: The South East Regional Health
Authority (SERHA) wishes to advise that the Greater Portmore Health Centre will be
reopening tomorrow (November 8, 2024), after a temporary closure today due to the National Water Commission (NWC) sewage lines. Additionally, there is water rising from underground in both the Mental Health Department and the front waiting area of the facility. These issues were first identified yesterday, and despite initial expectations that the water would recede, the situation has persisted. As a result, the facility was unable to accommodate the scheduled clinics today.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and assure the public that the situation is being closely monitored and addressed. The maintenance team assigned to the Greater Portmore Health Centre, in collaboration with the NWC, is committed to resolving the issue as quickly as possible.
The Health Centre will reopen tomorrow with all necessary repairs in place to ensure the
facility is fully operational.
