SERHA Hosts Zika Virus Town Hall Meeting

The St. Thomas Health Services hosted a Town Hall Meeting at the Nazareth Assembly Hall in Dalvey, St. Thomas on Wednesday, August 24, 2016.The Town Hall Meeting is part of the Ministry of Health’s Phase Two response to the Zika Virus, which is geared towards strengthening community intervention.

The presentations made during the meeting were aimed at educating the residents about preventing vector bourne illness such as the Zika Virus, and reducing the breeding sites for Aedes aegypti mosquito in the community, and in and around the home. Additionally, the residents were given useful information about Microcephaly and Guillain Barre Syndrome.
