A cheque valued at $1.2 Million was handed over to the Linstead Hospital from Trade Winds Citrus Ltd on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. The money was raised from proceeds of the 7th staging of the Tru Juice 5K Run/Walk and 20 K Cycle event held in June 2019.

Since 2015, the proceeds from the event have been donated to the Linstead Hospital as Trade Winds Citrus Limited (TWCL) continues to contribute to the development of the hospital and assist with the purchase of much needed equipment. Last year, TWCL handed over a cheque valued at $1 Million to the hospital, which was used to purchase an Infant Warmer and Neopuff Resuscitator.

This year, the money will be used to  purchase a mobile fast ultrasound unit for the Accident and Emergency Department and a blood analyzer.

In his remarks at the handing over,  Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr. the Hon.Christopher Tufton, thanked TWCL for their generous donations to the LPH for 5 consecutive years.  He said that TWCL also helped him on his personal wellness journey.
