Health Centre to be Built in Brown's Hall

Minister of Health, Dr. the Hon. The ground was officially broken on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 for the establishment of a new heath centre in the community of Brown's Hall in St. Catherine. The project is being built and funded at an estimated cost of $25,000,000 through a collaboration involving Kemteck Development and Construction Limited and Omni Industries Limited.  The project work was designed by the National Health Fund (NHF) and the Ministry of Health.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister of Health, Dr. Christopher Tufton said that the health centre will assist the Ministry’s efforts to get citizens to take responsibility for their own health, by getting regular health checks and taking steps to prevent lifestyle-related illnesses.

Senior Public Health Nurse, St. Catherine Health Services, Mrs. Marlene Stephenson said in her remarks that postnatal, family planning, child health and first aid services will be offered at the health centre.

The project is expected to be completed within three months.
